Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop comprehensive social media strategies that align with client objectives. 
  • Tailor strategies to fit various industries, target audiences, and brand personalities.
  • Create detailed content calendars for each client, outlining key themes, campaigns, and posting schedules. 
  • Ensure content is consistent with other content initiatives such as blog posts, email newsletters, etc. 

Content Creation & Execution

  • Write, edit, curate, and coordinate compelling social media content, including posts, captions, graphics, and short-form videos, tailored to each client’s voice and goals.
  • Design your own social media graphics and/or work closely with our internal creative team to ensure content is visually appealing and consistent with brand guidelines.
  • Publish content across multiple platforms (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok) while optimizing for platform-specific best practices.

Community Management

  • Monitor, engage, and respond to comments, messages, and mentions for all client accounts in a timely and professional manner.
  • Actively and regularly follow relevant accounts and employ other best practices to grow engagement and follower count for our clients.
  • When appropriate, acknowledge when the brand/client is tagged by a third party and respond or share. 
  • Foster relationships with followers and influencers to enhance client brand visibility and loyalty.

Analytics & Reporting (Organic & Paid)

  • Establish social media KPIs for each client that align with the overall goals of the client, while recognizing where the client is in its social journey. 
  • Track and analyze social media performance metrics for each client, including growth, engagement, reach, traffic, and conversions.
  • Provide regular reports with actionable insights and recommendations for optimization.
  • Partner with internal teams to use data from paid ad campaigns to refine strategies and demonstrate ROI to clients. 
  • Partner with internal teams to help execute and manage paid social media campaigns to support client goals, such as brand awareness, lead generation, or conversions.

Trend Monitoring & Innovation

  • Stay ahead of social media trends, platform updates, and emerging tools to keep clients’ strategies fresh and competitive.
  • Experiment with new formats and tactics to expand reach and engagement for clients.
  • Create “test and learn” scenarios when applicable to help test new ideas and concepts. 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should be able to efficiently combine strategic thinking with creativity to plan and execute engaging and informative content. The Social Media Manager must have strong communication skills, be able to think creatively, and have a keen eye for detail. They should also be able to work well under pressure and solve problems, with the ability to handle feedback and implement suggestions from team collaborators. 

To continue to grow, the Social Media Manager will be expected to analyze current social media trends and consumer behavior to anticipate market needs and adapt social media strategies for maximum impact, as well as build relationships with other industry professionals to foster collaboration and increase insights.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in social media management, preferably in an agency setting.
  • Experience working with a variety of industries and client types.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong writing and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone and style for different clients.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g. Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social, Planable, Hootsuite, etc.).
  • Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Facebook Insights).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
  • Creative thinker with an eye for detail.
  • Data-driven with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with clients and internal teams.
  • Basic graphic design and video editing skills (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).

This would be cool, but it’s not required: 

  • Trained in photography and/or video editing
  • Email campaign management experience
  • Content writing abilities: blogs, email newsletters, etc.
